Daily Outfit: Shorts to work again!

I’m not going to lie; I freaking love wearing shorts to work now.

It started out as a bit of a gambit actually, I thought for sure I was going to look like a total tool and that it would be really dadsy. I guess the public vote is still out, although my best friend does seem generally unimpressed with it as a look. I for one am a fan of the shorts in a corporate setting look, and I think that it is the business shirt that makes the look for sure. A polo shirt or t-shirt would be too casual, but the dress shirt and tie gives it a bit more authority.

Daily Outfit: Happy Lobster Socks

It is amazing how blissfully happy something as insignificant and a pair of socks can make you.

The socks in question are nothing special – they’re polyester, if memory serves, or at the very most a poly-cotton blend, and they were purchased for the lofty sum of $8. They are a hideous mustard yellow colour. And, despite all these obvious flaws, whenever I put them on I cannot help but smile.

Daily Ensemble: Jindabyne Long Weekend Wrap-up!

We left Jindabyne today after three days of high-country life. Most of our group went and did the Main Range walk, I however opted out of the 24 kilometer trek in favour of staying home, reading up on some Blogging books, and cooking everyone a roast pork dinner. I really think I made the right decision, despite the lack of exercise. Even the fittest of my friends were laying about moaning this morning, and the boyfriend is covered in sunburn and blisters!

Daily Outfit: Jindabyne bound

I'm off to beautiful Jindabyne today for the Australia Day long-weekend. The car is packed, I have two pork roasts in a freezer bag and I'm looking forward to a few nights away with my friends, followed up by an amazing brunch at Wild Brumby Distillery on the Monday before we leave. There will be no Blog post on Sunday, but I will be back on Monday!

Daily Outfit: Corporate shorts?

The particular Department that I work for attracts a lot of people who are really into the great outdoors. Camping, kayaking, bush-walking and the likes are all popular extracurricular activities and discussed in tea-rooms and kitchenettes throughout our buildings.

What this means, however, is that a lot of people’s love for all things outdoors is reflected in how they dress for work.

There is a lot of Kathmandu polar fleece. A lot. Those weird Teeva sandals feature pretty frequently, as do Thinsulate and Gortex fabrics. However, I think that the most telling invasion of the Corporate work wear, is the presence of shorts.

Daily Outfit: Now you’re just some Jeans that I used to know

I’m in a bit of a quandary with these jeans. They have been, for easily the past 18 months, my very favourite pair of jeans. Until recently, I’ve loved the way that they look, and I’ve always felt like they did great things for my figure and were pretty damn stylish.
However, I was wearing them on the night of my 28th birthday, and while intoxicated to the point of becoming paralytic, I threw up all over myself and my jeans.

Daily Outfit: Superman and triochromatic dressing

In my time away from Ink & leathers I decided that something I really wanted to do was to scale my wardrobe back significantly, and as a means of doing this, to limit myself to three colours only: Navy, white and burnt orange.
It’s a lot easier said than done, I can tell you.

Daily Outfit and a return to blogging:

Long time no post eh? Almost 500 days to be exact, since I last updated this Blog. A lot has happened in this time, much has changed, and even more has remained the same. On Wednesday February fifth this year it will be exactly 500 days since my hiatus started, and I've got a post planned that will give you a bit of an idea of what I've been up to.

Until then, let's just focus on the clothes shall we?
