Daily Outfit: Bright Taupe

I'm starting to realise just how much adding a garment in a colour other than blue really livens up some of my daily outfits.

Case in point, these taupe chinos. I mean, taupe is hardly a bright colour now is it? It's pretty staid and boring really, and yet when 90% of your wardrobe is the one colour, adding a piece to an outfit in a different colour really elevates the whole outfit.

For this daily outfit I'm wearing:

Navy pinstriped wool tailored blazer - Rembrandt Sartorial, thrifted
Blue and white multi-check button-down shirt - Trenery
Midnight blue silk necktie with skull and crossbones motif - Express Design Studio
Gold-tone tie clip - gift
Black leather belt - repuropsed from wedding outfit
Taupe whipcord chinos - Trenery
Blue leather boots with buckle detail - G-Star

I love the way that this outfit came together in the end. The taupe of the chinos really brightened up the blue leather of the boots, and the lighter blues of the shirt really livened up the pinstriping on the blazer. The end product being a fairly classic and almost preppy or collegiate look, which was both comfortable and stylish.
