There’s something about the cut of the jacket, I think.
It’s a very retro look, and not like anything that you’d buy now; which is to
say that the style is for the most part out of date. Still, there is something
about it that is quite classic, and I think that it looks quite good.
For this rough and tough daily outfit I’m wearing:
Dark denim jacket – Mooks, ebay
Orange and white checked button-down shirt – Polo Ralph Lauren
Navy silk necktie with pink/gold pheasant motif – Paul Stuart, thrifted
Brown leather belt - Sportscraft
Navy whipcord chinos - Trenery
Orange and white striped cotton socks – Uniqlo, Tokyo
Brown leather shoes with buckle detail – Raphael SteffensOrange and white checked button-down shirt – Polo Ralph Lauren

I really like the look of the dark denim with the the orange of the shirt, but also with the navy of the chinos. The tie also ties it all together very nicely, picking up colours of the other pieces splendidly. If it weren't for the fact that I'm still a little too pudgy for the jacket, I'd call this look a roaring success.
The boyfriend was kind enough to pull over on the side of the road and take these photos of me under a bridge near our house, as I failed to get my photos done over the weekend on account of the rain.
