Yesterday was the first birthday of the Hustle & Scout Markets here in Canberra, and I headed out to the gorgeous new location at Hangar 47 at Fairbairn to spend the afternoon Style Scouting the other attendees for the Hustle & Scout Facebook page.
I had a really great time at the markets, and I have to extend a huge congratulations to Tegan and her team for an amazing job well done. The space looked fantastic, the talent on display was phenomenal, and I truly cannot wait for the next market to come around.
Below is a selection of my favourite looks from the day, with very brief reasons as to why their looks caught my eye.

Daily Outfit: Mark 06 Jacket
I am completely smitten with this polyester jacket that I picked up in H&M in Finland, and it is rapidly becoming my go-to winter jacket.
It is actually a part of a runner's get-up with a pair of matching leggings/tights that I have at home, and while they look pretty bad-ass together, I won't be subjecting you to that view anytime soon. The jacket is also blissfully warm, most likely because it is made of several different kinds of plastic. It makes it perfect for dreary days like today, where the sky over Canberra is wet and grey looking, and the wind is particularly vicious.

Travel: Graffiti Hunting part 2
Travel presents a great opportunity to emerge yourself in the culture of an area or areas. For me, this means seeing what is on offer in the local Graffiti scene.
Graffiti has always been an interest of mine, and I love having the opportunity to see what local artists are doing. I find the work of graffiti artists really engaging and inspiring, and I am positive that the images below will be memories that stay with me once I have returned from my travel.

Luxury: Braddon Tailors
It is no secret that from the first time that I heard about Braddon Tailors, I have been something of a fan.
It should be no surprise then that I jumped at a recent opportunity to visit the Braddon Tailor's studio in the heart of Canberra's CBD, to check out their new range of neckwear and accessories.

Travel: Graffiti Hunting
I have something of a fixation with graffiti. Whatever form it comes in: paste-ups, stencils, spray paint or stickers; I love it all.
If you follow me on Instagram, you've no doubt seen me waxing lyrical about the merits of various bits and pieces of graffiti around Canberra; but my interest really peaked last year when I went to Tokyo and saw the calibre of work being done there. Wherever I go now I have my camera ready to capture the graffiti of that place.
It was miserable and overcast in Tallinn today, and while we went out, I didn't take any outfit posts. As such, here's the first of my graffiti hunting from this trip.

Daily Outfit: Stripes on Stripes on Stripes
I’ve gone a little batty for stripes on stripes in this
daily outfit.
In my humble opinion, patterns are really where you
have a chance to show off and peacock a little when it comes to menswear,
especially corporate menswear. It can feel like you are stuck in an endless
cycle of following the heard when you’re a man in an office: Monday – Blue shirt,
Tuesday – White shirt, Wednesday – Pink shirt. However, patterns help break out
of the drollery and to set yourself apart.

Daily Outfit: Neckerchief love
I don't know what it is, but I am loving the neckerchief at the moment.
It is not only stylish and really different to what 95% of other men in my office are wearing, but it is also delightfully comfortable and warm. I honestly can't see why I've only taken to wearing a neckerchief very recently. And now, I am thinking that I need to buy some more in different colours and patterns, so I can have more diversity in my accessories and pair them better with different shirts and daily outfits.

Daily Outfit: Jogger Jeans
I bought these jeans off ASOS the second that I saw
them, and was just lucky that they were on sale at the time. In fact, I bought
two pairs.
I'd been obsessed with owning a pair of elasticised
jeans, also called 'Jogger Jeans', since I first encountered the idea with a
particularly sexed-up offering from D-Squared. I was probably lusting after
these and planning to make my own for at least three years before I got my
hands on a pair.
Slight problem, then, that my best friend Margaret absolutely
hates them.

Weekend Adventures: The Royal Canberra Show
Today I made my annual pilgrimage to the
Royal Canberra Show.
I love the crazy carnival atmosphere of the
Canberra Show, everything from the noise, the sights, the smells; right through
to the queasy sick feeling you get watching people hurtle around on the rides
or from the masses of deep fried carnival fare consumed. Going to the Show is
something that I treat myself to and refuse to feel guilty about. It is one day
a year where I do not ask myself how many calories are in something, whether I
really need to eat that, or whether I probably shouldn't buy that.
