Daily Outfit: Uniformity

Uniforms are something that get a lot of reference in fashion, over and over again.

It is sort of hysterical when you consider the fact that for those that have to wear a uniform, be it for school, for work or for a sport; it tends to have very negative connotations. A polo shirt, for example, is something that I have been loath to wear until very recently, because as soon as I put one on I remember either high school, or working retail.

Neither are experiences that I am in any way interested in reliving as an adult, which likely explains my aversion to wearing them.

Daily Outfit: ASOS and Abyss

While placing an order for the boyfriend's birthday present recently, I decided to splurge and grabbed myself a few items at the same time. Two birds, one stone and all that.

I'd had my eyes on this perforated sweater from ASOS for a little while now, and despite the fact that I knew it wouldn't look anywhere near as good on me as it did on the ASOS model, I knew that I wanted to add it to my wardrobe. And I'm already thrilled that I did, because it's is going to be the perfect trans-seasonal piece as we move from winter into spring here in the ACT.

Daily Outfit: Blue Jeans, White Shirt

This is my first real experiment with wearing coloured denim, and also my a very rare occasion, as they're skinny coloured jeans at that!

I bought these jeans recently from ASOS, when I was buying the boyfriend his requested birthday chinos. I was actually looking for some more chinos for myself too, but I chanced upon these guys and decided to give them a go, given that they're a really nice blue, and they were insanely cheap.

Daily Outfit: Helsinki

By the time you're all reading this, I am on a plane on my way to Singapore, before reaching my final destination- Helsinki, Finland.

I'm headed to Finland with my younger sister Hollie, and we're meeting up with my best friend Mags. I'll be away for three weeks, in which time we're travelling all over Finland, and venturing to Estonia and Sweden as well.

If you're wondering "Why Finland?", the main reason is that my dad was born and raised in Finland, and as such I am incredibly curious about my heritage.

Daily Outfit: Preparing for Finland

Given the comparatively balmy weather we’re having this weekend (18 degrees in autumn is balmy for Canberra!) I decided to utilise the opportunity and to trial an outfit I was planning on packing for my trip to Finland in two weeks time.

I’ll be in Finland in early summer. The average temperature for the month of June in Finland is 18 degrees. So, it made sense to me trial wearing the shorter-length chino shorts from ASOS, just to see how I’d fair temperature-wise.

Daily Outfit: Casual Thursday

I was at a training day all day today, and so I decided to take the liberty of dressing more casually, given that I didn't have to be in the office and I didn't really have anyone that I wanted to impress. Also, I wanted to be comfortable.

I'm sure that the way that I wear this double-breasted blazer isn't for everyone, but I really love it this was. It kind of feels like having a big blanket draped around my shoulders, and I love the way that the lapels sort of flap about when I walk, almost like wings :)

Travel: Three Weeks to Go

This time in three weeks time, I will be aboard a plane headed for Singapore, for a three-hour layover. After that three hours it's back aboard and off to our main destination, Helsinki, Finland.

For anyone who has been following this Blog for some time, you will be aware that I am VERY late to the whole travelling abroad thing. I left Australia for the first time in 2013.

Despite the fact that I've only left the country twice, and both flights were under 10 hours, I can safely say that I am a terrible traveler. I don't enjoy the actual travelling part in the slightest- planes are uncomfortable and other people are gross. So, seeing as I am now faced with two 20-hour plus layover flights, I figured it would be best to start taking matters into my own hands, and investing in some travel clothes.
